{"id":1284,"date":"2020-12-21T11:20:10","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T15:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/?p=1284"},"modified":"2022-09-21T09:52:08","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T13:52:08","slug":"radon-and-the-ohio-general-assembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/radon-and-the-ohio-general-assembly\/","title":{"rendered":"Radon and the Ohio General Assembly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Radon and the Ohio General Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As often occurs during lame-duck-sessions in Congress and the Ohio Statehouse, there was a flurry of activity last week in Columbus as several potential amendments were added or removed from existing legislation.<\/p>\n<p>One example included Radon Testing as an amendment to\u00a0<strong>Ohio HB 442<\/strong>\u00a0which\u00a0<strong><em>could have<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0impacted\u00a0<strong>Home Inspectors regarding Radon Inspection and Testing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response, a great deal of communication and REALTOR\u00ae Party Advocacy took place by OHIO REALTORS, the Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS\u00ae and lobbyists from Ohio\u2019s Home Inspectors and Radon interests.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, in the end, an amendment to\u00a0<strong>HB 442<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0<strong>added, accepted and passed the Ohio Senate which will preserve Ohio\u2019s Home Inspectors to continue performing Radon Inspection and Testing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The legislation will now go back to the Ohio House for concurrence between the two chambers.\u00a0 This could likely occur tomorrow, Tuesday December 22, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>So, as is also often the case in these lame-duck-sessions, we will wait to see the outcome, but for now, it appears that REALTORS\u00ae and Home Inspectors can view this as a victory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Radon and the Ohio General Assembly As often occurs during lame-duck-sessions in Congress and the Ohio Statehouse, there was a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1284","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-advocacy-and-government-affairs-news"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1284","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1284"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1284\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1285,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1284\/revisions\/1285"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1284"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1284"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elephanteardesign.com\/ragc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1284"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
