Litter trashes everyone. Luckily, Palmetto Pride is on the front lines, combatting the impact through education, enforcement, and coordinated cleanup efforts. This legislative initiative was created in response to South Carolinians who voiced concerns about the impact of litter on the Palmetto state. Through the hard work of volunteer programs such as Adopt-A-Highway and the Great American Cleanup, Palmetto Pride has eliminated millions of pieces of litter from South Carolina’s roads, forests, parks and waterways and is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
Elephant Ear Design created website for Palmetto Pride that allows for a steady input of fresh information and news updates. The site is mobile responsive and features a constant feed of current news and events at the center of the page. At any time, visitors to the site can click the featured item, taking them to a longer version of the story. Additionally, a live Twitter feed keeps the visitor up to date on the day to day happenings at Palmetto Pride. To better assist with Palmetto Pride’s efforts to keep South Carolina litter-free, a Palmetto Trash Tracker system can be found on the homepage to allow site users to quickly report litter and illicit trash dumping.
Live news aside, Palmetto Pride’s site is easy to navigate. Educational items and resources are easily located with a few clicks, and information related to litter laws and enforcement can be easily retrieved as well. A drop-down tab at the top of the page with County listings allows users to quickly retrieve local Palmetto Pride affiliates.
